Installation server is new name given to shared folders, cd-rom drives which are normally used to install applications. Applications are generally stored on
a seperate hard disk folder where it can be shared and installed to all the client devices on network. This makes installation process easy for everybody
on network. Plus your original program CDs are protected from damage due to wear and tear.
All this features are available free in most network operating system. In windows just right click on folder objects goto sharing, give sharename & you are there. The device is now shared on network. You can transfer all your programs onto this device. You can then allot specific access rights and treat it as installation server.
